1. About Our Auctions

How do your auctions work?

We run weekly online liquidation auctions from Tuesday to Sunday. Bidders can browse, bid, and win items at great prices. The highest bidder at auction close wins the item. We use a Soft Close bidding system which extends the timer automatically if a bid is placed in the last 2 minutes.

How do I register to bid?

You must create an account on HIBID here (www.hibid.com/lakeeffectliquidation), register for that weeks auction, and agree to our terms and conditions. We require an account with a verified form of payment and the address to be used for shipping.

Can I preview items before bidding?

At this time we do not have the ability to manage in person previews. We hope to be able to provide you this opportunity soon.

Are all items new?

No, items may be new, open-box, refurbished, customer returns, or for parts only. We list item conditions in the descriptions and encourage bidders to review the photos and description.

2. Payments & Fees

What payment methods do you accept?

Upon winning an auction, your credit or debit card on file will automatically be charged if you have requested shipping. For in-person payments, we accept cash, apple or android pay, and credit or debit cards with an EMV chip.

Are there any buyer’s fees?

Yes, a buyer’s premium of 12% will be applied to your final invoice. New York Sales tax at 8.75% is then collected and added to the final invoice, unless you have a valid reseller’s certificate.

Note that there is also a 3% credit card processing fee that will be added to your final invoice should you choose to use a credit or debit card for payment.

Can I cancel my bid?

NO, all bids are final, and non-paying bidders may be banned from future auctions.

3. Pickup & Shipping

How do I pick up my items?

Winning bidders must pick up their items at our warehouse during the specified business hours and must be pre-scheduled using this link (ENTER SCHEDULING LINK). You’ll need to bring your invoice number, ID, and method of payment. Please use the link to schedule a pickup time as this helps us to plan ahead for your arrival.

Do you offer shipping?

Yes, we offer shipping nationwide and to Canada on select items, this is generally all items under 50 pounds, but check for the "Shipping Available" symbol on each item to confirm. Shipping costs will be calculated after the auction and you must pay this before your item can be shipped. Large or bulky items may be pickup-only.

Canadian bidders are responsible to pay for the customs duties and any extra international shipping costs incurred.

Can someone else pick up my item for me?

Yes! Provide them with a copy of your invoice and please let us know in advance.

What happens if I don’t pick up my items?

You have 3 days from the day the auction ends to pick up your items. Unclaimed items will be forfeited and resold, and you may be banned from future auctions.

4. Refunds & Returns

Can I return an item?

All sales are final and as-is. We do our best to test items and describe them accurately, but buyers assume all risks. If an item is significantly different from its description, ie damaged or incomplete, contact us within 48 hours of pickup or delivery for resolution.

5. Loyalty & Referral Programs

Do you have a loyalty program?

Yes, coming soon! Our point-based loyalty program allows customers to earn points for bidding, winning, and referring new bidders. Points can be redeemed for discounts or exclusive perks.

How does the referral program work?

Share your unique referral link or code with friends. When they sign up and bid, you both earn rewards!

Be sure to follow our social media pages and subscribe to our email notifications in order to stay up to date with and participate in our giveaway programs as well!

We giveaway a mystery box once a month to our subscribers, as well as offer fun discount promotions within our videos that apply to that weeks auction.

6. Business & Tax Questions

Can I get a tax-exempt purchase?

Yes! If you are a reseller with a valid resale certificate, you can email your tax-exempt documents to us before bidding.

Do you provide invoices for business purchases?

Yes! All winning bidders receive a detailed invoice via email or in person with their purchase breakdown for tax or bookkeeping purposes.
